What To Expect
Dr. Foss provides individual and couples counseling utilizing a collaborative and relational therapy approach to address her clients unique needs.
Your first session:
The first appointment you schedule with Dr. Foss will be an intake appointment. This initial meeting varies somewhat from a typical therapy session in that it is more structured and involves gathering some background information in order to get a more complete understanding of your presenting concerns and personal story. During this initial meeting, Dr. Foss will ask you questions about your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. These first couple of meetings are viewed as a collaborative conversation where both you and Dr. Foss can assess whether or not she is the best fit for you and your treatment goals. After this initial assessment period, the session focus is determined by you and what you feel is most important to discuss.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you must provide notification at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. If you do not provide notification of the need to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged for the missed session. Please note, that if you are using insurance, missed sessions and late cancellations are not covered by your insurance benefits and you will be responsible for the full session fee, which will be billed to you directly.
