About Dr. Jessica Foss, PhD
Dr. Jessica Foss is the founder of Renew Counseling Center and is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY28674). She received a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, an MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles.
Interests and Training
College/graduate Students: Dr. Foss developed her expertise for working with college/graduate students through her prior clinical experiences at university counseling centers (Caltech, Pepperdine University, and Cal State University, Fullerton). As a result, she understands that this stage of life brings many joys as well as a plethora of challenges. Dr. Foss has a particular interest in working with people experiencing depression or anxiety due to difficulties related to their relationships, identity, self-worth, or past trauma (childhood abuse, sexual trauma, emotional abuse). Additionally, she has extensive experience working with men’s issues and providing male-sensitive psychotherapy.
Dr. Foss is passionate about helping couples reconnect and recover from relationship difficulties. She has completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT) and is currently pursuing her certification.
Religion & Spirituality:
Dr. Foss is trained in providing spiritually focused therapy to clients who wish to incorporate their religion or spirituality into treatment. In particular, she frequently works with individuals and couples from a Christian background who wish to work with a therapist familiar with their faith.
Autism Spectrum Disorders:
Dr. Foss has over 8 years of experience helping individuals of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorders feel more at ease, confident, and connected.
